Nominations opened last week for Chief Learning Officer magazine’s Learning in Practice and Provider Awards. The industry’s premier honor, these awards recognize outstanding achievement for both practitioners of employee development and suppliers of learning solutions.

“The Learning In Practice Awards recognize the best and the brightest leaders in the corporate learning industry,” said Norm Kamikow, editor in chief of Chief Learning Officer magazine. “Our award categories are set up to align to the evolving challenges faced by learning executives, as well as to recognize some of the outstanding contributions the vendor community has made to the learning industry.”

These categories include the CLO of the Year, the industry’s top honor, along with a list of other awards, each of which will be broken down into two separate divisions based on organizational size. The remaining categories include The Leadership Awards, The Vanguard Awards, The Innovation Awards, The Business Impact Awards, The Global Leaning Awards and The Learning Team Awards.

The Provider Awards will be presented to those who have demonstrated excellence in the following newly extended categories: outsourcing, e-learning, LMS, simulations and games, social networks, content, customer service, academic partnerships and consulting.

The winners of the 2008 Learning In Practice Awards will be announced Sept. 25 during a special ceremony at the Fall 2008 Chief Learning Officer Magazine Symposium at the legendary Hotel Del Coronado in Coronado, Calif. Kevin Wilde, vice president and CLO of General Mills Inc. and Chief Learning Officer magazine’s 2007 CLO of the Year, will deliver the keynote address.
