Team Builders Plus, a global training and development firm based in Cherry Hill, N.J., has acquired Teambuilding Inc., based in Chadds Ford, Pa.
Jeff Backal, co-owner and president, said he predicts the company will benefit greatly from the acquisition and that it builds on successes Team Builders Plus already has experienced.
“We already have more than triple the staffing of most other training firms, including several highly experienced trainers and coaches,” he said. “Our employees and the services we provide for individual, team and group leadership, training, coaching and assessments have enabled us to count more than a quarter of the current Fortune 100 companies as our clients.”
Additionally, Backal said organizations that use the services Team Builders Plus offers will benefit from an increased number of offerings from the company.
“Acquiring Teambuilding Inc. allows us to complement the team-building side of our business with 20 additional team-building adventures for organizations, in addition to a new conference speaker network,” he said.
Further, the company will be able to harness the capabilities of HRDQ, a provider of experiential learning solutions.
“The acquisition of Teambuilding Inc. offers our clients access to a large selection of world-class experiential learning assessments, games, simulations and learning activities from HRDQ,” Backal said. “Teambuilding, Inc. is HRDQ’s No. 1 distributor in the United States.”
Peter Grazier, Teambuilding Inc. founder and president, said the company’s acquisition reflects the growth it has been experiencing.
“Our business has been enormously successful since its 1985 inception, but our resources only enabled us to service a percentage of new business requests,” he said. “With the experience and manpower of Team Builders Plus, the new combined company will be a true training and development powerhouse.”
Team Builders Plus was founded in 1991, and in addition to its New Jersey headquarters, it has an office in Wilmington, Del.
In the last year, the company also acquired Silver Career Management and entered a strategic alliance with Coaching Partners Inc.
