The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards is relocating to Washington, D.C. and has retained Association Strategies Inc. to recruit for several positions in its education department.  The CFP Board is an $18 million budget, 50 person organization.

Managing Director, Examinations and Education –  Seek individual to maintain a strategic vision and enhance the plan for the credentialing and education efforts of the organization; ensure the certification exam is valid, reliable and legally defensible; align the organization with registered education programs which are consistent with the standards of the organization; and report to the CEO.  Need a Ph.D.; senior level experience in credentialing; an understanding of adult education principles; and strong communication skills.  A CFP® is a plus. 

Director of Examinations – Seek individual to oversee the development and administration of the CFP ® exam to ensure it is valid, reliable and legally defensible and report to the Managing Director, Examinations and Education.  Need a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred); experience working for a credentialing organization and/or a test development firm; knowledge of NCCA standards; experience with psychometricians and content experts; and excellent communications skills. 

Director of Education – Seek individual to create a successful community-based professional development program through degree-granting educational institutions; ensure that the organization is affiliated with registered continuing professional education programs which meet its high quality standards and reflect the ethical standards and strategic initiatives of the organization; and report to the Managing Director, Examinations and Education.  Need a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred); experience in managing the educational offerings of a professional organization; a solid understanding of adult learning and education concepts/principles; and excellent communications skills.
