The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a global professional association and educator in talent management strategies, and H3.com, the first social commerce platform for recruiters to motivate their social networks to yield well-screened candidates, have announced that H3.com will sponsor HCI’s Employee and Alumni Referral education and research track, one of several topics addressed in HCI’s Talent Acquisition community of interest, a community HCI considers essential for organizations striving to build competitive advantage.
Experts think 30 percent to 40 percent of all external hires should come from employee and alumni referral programs.
Although some organizations leverage their employees’ networks of friends and family for recruitment purposes, fewer organizations track and maintain relationships with select past employees who might be persuaded to return or at least refer others. As a result, employers are missing out on key sources of hire.
“Employee and alumni referrals are quality sources of hires that most organizations are not leveraging to the full extent,” said Allan Schweyer, HCI president and executive director. “H3.com’s support enables us to provide human capital professionals with resources to help them implement programs that yield more high-caliber candidates.”
With increased referrals as an objective, HCI’s track looks at examples of best programs, how they were set up, how they are maintained, success rates and innovative practices in this important area. A panel of expert advisers examines methods and emerging trends in employee and alumni referrals.
Webcasts, white papers, education and other resources provide human capital professionals with information to more effectively leverage employee and alumni referrals.
