The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a global professional association and educator in talent management
strategies, and Development Dimensions International (DDI), a lobal human resource consulting firm, have partnered to conduct talent management research.
“As we move further into the 21st century, the evolution from industrial economy to knowledge-based economy is accelerating, “said Allan Schweyer, HCI president and executive director. “Now, more than ever, an organization’s competitive levers are the ideas, creativity, and peed of innovation driven by its most talented employees.”
To uncover best and next practices in talent management, and dentity areas requiring improvement, DDI and HCI will survey leading organizations and analyze findings. Research is aimed at determining whether organizations have the best talent in key positions, as well as ow they manage human capital.
It also seeks to identify today’s most compelling talent management issues.
Those invited to participate in the survey include executives, HR managers and HR professionals from a wide variety of organizations, including multinational and foreign-owned companies, with locations in the United States and Canada.
Seeking participants from these groups will ensure
the study is shaped by a broad base of diverse perspectives.
“DDI continually conducts research to uncover key trends,” said Rich Wellins, DDI senior vice president. “The data gathered from this joint talent management research will help companies stay ahead of the curve. The research will also play a role in shaping the future of organizations’ talent initiatives.”
Preliminary survey findings will be available at HCI’s National Human apital Summit, which will be in Phoenix on March 19-21. A webcast based on survey findings is also planned for spring 2007.
